I want writable walls. What’s the difference between CREATE and PRO Dry Erase Paint?
CREATE Dry Erase Paint comes in a White and Clear finish. Create can be applied by anyone and used for any application: home, school or work. This low odor, low VOC formula is UL GREENGUARD Gold Certified and contributes to LEED certification. CREATE should be applied in properly ventilated spaces (as is recommended when applying traditional paint). CREATE has a 10 year limited warranty.
PRO dry erase paint is our industrial grade product that is suited for the toughest and most demanding environments, such as schools, hospitals, and very high use conference rooms. It is available in White, Clear, Light Gray and White Sand. It is UL GREENGUARD Gold Certified. PRO has a strong odor and requires professional installation in unoccupied spaces (i.e., over the weekend or in new construction). Depending on the room’s ventilation, the odor will dissipate completely within 24 hours.
I want magnetic walls. What’s the difference between Magnetic Primer and PULL Magnetic Wallcovering?
Each of our magnetic solutions can be top coated with latex paint for a magnetic surface in any color you choose, or paired with IdeaPaint Dry Erase Paint for a writable, magnetic surface. IdeaPaint Magnetic Primer is a powerfully magnetic, highly versatile magnetic paint. It is UL GREENGUARD Gold Certified, low odor and up to 2x stronger than other magnetic primers on the market.
PULL is a highly durable, industrial grade magnetic wallcovering that contributes to LEED Certification. It comes in rolls and requires installation by a professional wallcovering expert.
Can IdeaPaint products be tinted different colors?
IdeaPaint Dry Erase Paint and Magnetic Primer cannot be tinted custom colors. However, IdeaPaint Clear Dry Erase Paint is a transparent coating that can be applied over any color (even specialty materials like wood or metal), seamlessly blending with any décor. Our light gray Magnetic Primer can be top coated with latex paint to create a magnetic surface in your color of choice. Or take it to the next level by adding a layer of IdeaPaint Clear Dry Erase Paint for a colorful, writable, magnetic surface.

IdeaPaint Wallcoverings (Write & Project)
IdeaPaint Wallcoverings can be installed by anyone who is familiar and feels comfortable with the wallcoverings installation process. For optimal results, we recommend that a professional hang the products.
When will my new IdeaPaint Dry Erase surface be ready to use?
Most IdeaPaint products are ready to write on after 7 days, and CREATE White can be written on after 4 days. Both writing and erasing performance will improve as the IdeaPaint surface ages, even after the initial cure period.
How do I take care of IdeaPaint surfaces?
IdeaPaint works like a charm when you treat it well. Follow the tips outlined in our Use & Care Guide to keep your walls happy and performing their best.
What kind of markers should I use?
We recommend IdeaPaint Dry Erase Markers. Don’t have any on hand? Whatever your marker of choice, it’s wise to test it on a small area before using on the entire wall.
Can IdeaPaint surfaces be touched up if scratched?
Yes. The patch may be slightly visible, but it will not affect writing performance. Sand the trouble spot, wipe clean, and re-apply IdeaPaint to the area by feathering it in with a 4” foam roller. If multiple spots need to be repaired, we recommended recoating the entire surface. If your wall is damaged, contact us at install@ideapaint.com for further instruction.
What does your warranty cover?
Warranties for our Dry Erase Paint are outlined in our Terms & Conditions. When purchased directly from IdeaPaint, the product is warrantied to not crack or peel, to resist staining and yellowing, and to show no fade when used with the appropriate dry erase markers, and when properly installed, cleaned and maintained (per our Installation and Use & Care guidelines). CREATE is warrantied for 10-years; PRO is warrantied for life.
Is IdeaPaint permanent? How do I get it off my wall?
IdeaPaint never needs to be removed. If an IdeaPaint surface is no longer needed, just sand the surface, prime and paint over it.

How much should I expect to pay for installation of dry erase paint and wallcoverings?
Installation costs will vary based on many factors, including the level of prep that needs to be performed for your specific walls, the specific contractor quoting the installation, the location of the project, etc. We recommend getting a quote from a contractor for the installation based on your project specifics.
