A certied low-emission product, IdeaPaint CLEAR fully adheres to the VOC limits established by South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD), California Air Resources Board (CARB), and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED).
Yes. Rubber gloves and safety goggles are recommended. The safety precautions outlined in IdeaPaint’s Safety Data Sheet, found at www.ideapaint.com, should be followed.
Due to IdeaPaint’s high gloss nature, surface imperfections can be magnied. Repair any scratches or bumps on the surface. Allow spackle to dry completely. Sand, smooth and wipe witha clean dry cloth. For optimal performance a level 5 drywall nish is recommended. Prime using one of our preferred primers and apply 2 coats of 100% acrylic top coat in the colorof your choosing. Base coat paint should have a semi-gloss or gloss nish. Visit http://learn.ideapaint.com/preferred-products for a complete list of our preferred primers and base coat paints. Allow 24 hours to dry before applying IdeaPaint CLEAR.
Review the manufacturer’s instructions for the paint and follow their recommendations for applying a second coat. If there is no recommendation, wait 24 hours before applying IdeaPaint CLEAR.
IdeaPaint CLEAR performs best over a 100% acrylic top coat with a semi-gloss or gloss sheen. When applying over a 100% acrylic top coat with these nishes, primer is not required. If the wall nish is matte or at, apply semi-gloss or gloss 100% acrylic top coat. For a complete list of our preferred primers, visit www.ideapaint.com. Allow primer to dry for 24 hours. Remember—follow all manufacturers’ application instructions.
Yes. If the wall is a deep tint and is the sheen is unknown, apply 2 coats 0f 100% acrylic top coat paint. Allow 24 hours to dry before applying IdeaPaint CLEAR.

IdeaPaint CLEAR is virtually odorless. It is still recommended to properly ventilate the space as is recommended when applying any traditional paint. Open windows, doors and HVAC system to 100% air exhaust to ventilate area and aid in curing and drying.

The manufacturer’s 10 year limited material warranty is for registered IdeaPaint installation. Technical Training is included in the registration process and is required for installation of registered IdeaPaint products. Failure to obtain proper technical training prior to installation of IdeaPaint products will void the warranty.
IdeaPaint CLEAR can be installed successfully by anyone who is comfortable painting traditional latex paint. Before applying, refer to the IdeaPaint CLEAR installation instructions at www.ideapaint.com.
Each IdeaPaint CLEAR kit is backed by a 10-year limited warranty that guarantees IdeaPaint will not crack, yellow, or peel. This warranty is outlined in our Terms & Conditions. Remember that the writing and erasing performance of an IdeaPaint surface is prolonged with proper maintenance and upkeep, which can be found in our Use & Care Guide.
IdeaPaint never needs to be removed. If an IdeaPaint surface is no longer needed, paint over it similar to any painted wall. Lightly sand the surface, prime and then paint.
Clean IdeaPaint CLEAR from hands with soap and water. Clean any other surface by applying the acetone to a rag, then work the spill with the damp rag.
IdeaPaint CLEAR is ready to write on after 7 days. Both writing and erasing performance will improve as the IdeaPaint surface ages, even after the initial cure period.
Yes. The patch will be noticeably visible, but it will not affect writing performance. Touch up areas should be 1” by 1“ or smaller and should be completed during IdeaPaint’s 7 day cure time. Sand the trouble spot, wipe clean, and re-apply IdeaPaint CLEAR to the area by feathering it in with a 4” foam roller. If there are multiple spots that need to be repaired, it is recommended to recoat the entire surface. If your wall is damaged, contact IdeaPaint for further instruction.
